ACTIVITIES
BIKE DONATION.
Before the donation trip, through our Instagram post and with the help of the school, we were able to gather around 24 bicycles in total. These donations would then go into the implementation of our project.
INSTALLATION OF WORKSHOP.
On Friday 23rd, we set our course to transfer the bicycles and install the workshop on FunLimón’s grounds. At our destination, bicycles were unloaded, stored and the workshop was set up. Inventory was taken care of by the workers and the truck drivers because it is their job to ensure the cargo (bike parts for the workshop).
After setting up the workshop, unloading all bikes, and counting inventory, we all set off towards the local Roberto Clemente Health Clinic and got a tour of the place. The representative who was there at the moment told us a little of their impact on surrounding communities. This ranged from medical services, two ambulances ready at any moment, a water purification plant to supply surrounding communities with clean water, and their garden project, in which many vegetable patches are built and maintained by them and community members.
